Shipping Policy

 

Chumart offers free curbside shipping for all items to the contiguous 48 states of the United States. This excludes additional accessorial charges such as those for limited access, redelivery, detention, etc. Shipping to Hawaii and Alaska is available at an additional cost; please contact us for a quote. We do not ship to other islands or territories. Standard shipping typically takes 2-8 business days, though delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances.

Standard Shipping Notes:

  • Delivery dates are not guaranteed, as we cannot control the carrier once the order has shipped. The exception is for orders placed and shipped using methods that explicitly include a guaranteed delivery date.

  • If an order is canceled or refused (unless refused as a damaged shipment) after shipping, a 25% restocking fee and the full freight cost will be charged to the customer.

  • Please inspect all units upon arrival, regardless of the external packaging condition. If you are unable to inspect all units, are unsure of the internal condition, or if the driver refuses to allow an inspection, you MUST write "SUBJECT TO INSPECTION" on the proof of delivery/delivery slip before the driver leaves. Failure to do so will result in the loss of your claim, and we will be unable to send replacement parts, issue a discount, or replace the equipment. Please refer to the attached freight receipt precautions for more information. Chumart cannot be held liable for damages not listed on the freight acceptance form.

When Your Shipment Arrives

Inspect the shipment immediately upon arrival. Thoroughly check the freight for any visible damage and ensure the driver is also aware of any issues. Document the damage at the point of delivery and detail it on the bill of lading.

(When you open your order, be sure to keep the original manufacturer's packaging in case you need to return it.)

#1. Accept the Shipment

  • If the shipment appears undamaged, sign for the delivery but still note "SUBJECT TO INSPECTION" on the receipt to account for any hidden damage discovered later.

  • If the damage is minor and strictly cosmetic, note it on the delivery receipt, take pictures, and notify Chumart. We will work with you to find a solution.

  • Document all visible damage on the acceptance form. If you keep the shipment, ensure the specific damages are listed on the signed bill. If the driver uses an electronic device (PDA), request a paper note detailing the damage, signed by the driver, before they depart. We offer credits or free replacement parts for units signed for as damaged, but only if the specific damages are listed on the acceptance form and accompanied by photos.

#2. Reject the Shipment

  • If the packaging is seriously damaged, you can reject the unit and return it with the driver. Note the damage on the delivery receipt and notify Chumart immediately so we can send a replacement.

  • If you are unwilling to accept visible damage and the carrier is uncooperative in filing a freight claim, it is best to refuse the damaged item. Note the freight bill with "Refused" and contact our Customer Care Team immediately.

Shipping Damages

  • Claims documentation must be submitted within two (2) business days after the damage or loss is discovered. For concealed damage, claims must be submitted no later than three (3) days after delivery.

  • If an item arrives damaged, contact us immediately, preferably within two business days. Do not sign for the delivery as "clear" if damage is evident.

  • Thoroughly inspect all packages before signing the delivery ticket. Refuse any damaged equipment or supplies, including items with hidden damage, before signing the freight bill.

  • If merchandise is signed for as arriving in good condition, it releases the freight company from liability and closes any opportunity for a freight damage claim. If packages are damaged, you must refuse them and notify us immediately for a replacement. Otherwise, you must wait for a freight claim to be resolved before a replacement can be sent, if applicable.

*We are not responsible for any damages to pickup orders after the units leave our will-call location.
